Originating from Pakistan and now based in Scotland, Capture Mobility is a clean energy technology business. Their unique wind turbines harness the turbulence of moving vehicles from the roadside, converting their movement into power.
The main purpose of Capture Mobility’s Let’s Go Trade visit was to explore Chinese markets, and find suitable business partners in the air pollution and transport energy sectors to expand the business. Hussan undertook a schedule of meetings with manufacturers, suppliers and potential investors.
Developments with manufacturers undertaken on the trip have already made a positive effect on the business, with Hassan successfully sourcing quality suppliers in the country. These have made a direct economic impact on the product, including a 12% increase in the efficiency of the generators and 8% reduction in overall production cost.
Collaborative opportunities were a key part of the trips success. Hassan organised a meeting with the China Clean Air Alliance, which was in the early stages of an investment project with the Scottish government department Capture Mobility already worked with. Since the visit, it has been confirmed Capture Mobility will be participating in the joint venture between the Chinese and Scottish Governments for the use of clean energy technologies in Shenzhen.
Hassan said of his Let’s Go Trade trip, "It’s a tremendous opportunity for the businesses to explore other markets and shake hands on more partnerships. Let’s Go Trade gives you the wings to scale-up and learn more about your related market in different regions. We really appreciate the support of Shell for giving us the opportunity to step forward and show our work to the world"
